Before you order
Is it legal to replace a VIN plate?
Replacing a damaged or missing plate on a vehicle you legally own, with the same original VIN, is a normal part of restoration. Altering or swapping a VIN to change a vehicle’s identity is a serious crime, and we will not do it.
How fast will I get my plate?
We engrave and ship within 24–48 hours. US delivery is typically 3–5 business days; Canada is 5–10 business days, tracked.
Will it survive outdoors?
Yes. We use .040" anodized aluminum rated 20+ years outdoors. The engraving is cut into the metal, so your numbers stay readable.
Can you match my original plate’s layout?
In most cases, yes. Send a photo of your original plate, even faded or damaged, and we will recreate the fonts, spacing and layout before engraving.
We engrave replacement identification only. VintagWorks plates are made for vehicles and equipment you legally own or are authorized to service, with the original, unaltered numbers.
